![]() Here’s to one of the most iconic vehicles from the 80’s. The Lego Ghostbuster Ecto-1 set is a great gift for any Ghostbuster fan. Even with that much power and a fantastic air suspension system, driving it wasn’t the most pleasant experience. I think I would’ve liked it better if the capture feature operated on a seperate winch instead being connected to the axel. The Ecto-1 was epic in size, spanning 21 feet long and weighing 7,300 pounds. It’s a bit annoying since it is connected to the rear axel of the vehicle and once you’ve completely wound up the cable, the rear axel no longer turns (unless I’m totally wrong and there is a way to keep the axel free rolling). Last but not least the ghost capture gimmick. It’s a good thing the seat can be removed easily and isn’t permanently fixed with a “one-time only” connection. Personally I like the Ecto-1 without the roof seat. The vehicle can sit all 4 figures inside at once. The pilot showed Ray sitting on the roof of the Ecto-1.Įcto-1’s dimensions span 13.75 x 5.5 x 8 inches (including the roof blaster seat). The vehicle features a “swiveling blaster seat” on the roof, I think Kenner got this idea from the 3:50 minute pilot footage used to pitch the show to the network. Another option would be going after the Trendmasters version which is usually whiter in tone but it’s based off the Extreme Ghostbusters version and is smaller compared to the Kenner version. I’m not entirely sure how white the actual toy is supposed to be but I can see there’s a hint of yellowing happening to the toy. It's perfect for your Ghostbusters toys to chase (or just as a fun conversation piece on your desk). The Ecto-1 was pretty prominent on the show. The Ghostbusters Ecto-1 is one of the most iconic movie cars ever, right up there with the DeLorean DMC-12 time machine from Back to the Future. It's hardly an "action figure" by traditional definitions, but Fearsome Flush is hard to beat as a memorable ghost and a unique design. The toilet lid pops up to reveal a pair of horrifying, bloodshot eyes, and the lid raises to unleash a wagging tongue and rows of teeth. Roll it across a solid surface, though, and the real monster shows itself. In the default mode, Fearsome Flush appears to be an unassuming toilet with a pale gray color and a Ghostbusters logo stamped onto the lid. There's not a lot of articulation to the Fearsome Flush, but it doesn't need it. The line was already fairly long in the tooth for a toy line by the time of this wave's release, so Fearsome Flush is a clear stand-out in a line that included a "Green Ghost" figure decked out with a Proton Pack and the Neutrona Wand themed "Water Zapper." These new additions all come in gorgeous retro packaging, with a brilliant color scheme that stands out in any collection, but they'll still pop on your shelf if you decide you'd rather open up your toys rather than keep them on card.įearsome Flush originally debuted as part of 1989's sixth wave of Real Ghostbusters toys. Hasbro sent CBR this wave to take a look at, and we were pleasantly surprised with the continued level of quality and attention to detail that comes with the Real Ghostbusters re-release line. Two new ghosts are on the way, as well as the iconic Ghostbusters Ecto-1, just in time to drive around town and catch a few ghosts. The second wave may not have the core Ghostbusters in its line-up, but it does have some of the line's most fun toys. Vintage 1980s Kenner ECTO-1 The Real Ghostbusters Car.
